About the Role:

Diva International is looking for a Digital Graphic Designer to join the creative team in an exciting time where our brand is focused on our presence across all digital channels. This team member will play a critical role in the launch and maintenance of Diva’s new eCommerce site and will work closely with our current Design, Social Media, Global Communications teams. You will focus on the execution of all digital marketing needs while working cross-functionally with digital operations and marketing to achieve creative and consistent content that aligns with Diva’s brand narrative. An ideal candidate is a strong digital designer with experience in UX, CX and graphic design. A successful digital designer is excited by and will work closely with marketing to learn about Diva’s products, purpose, and journey, leveraging that excitement and knowledge to develop the best creative for all digital channels. This is a critical role to support Diva in our aggressive 3-year digital growth strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Create engaging digital properties at varying scales for digital platforms including but not limited to mobile, email, organic and paid social assets, and internal communications.
  • Develop motion graphic assets at varying scales for digital platforms including but not limited to mobile, email, organic and paid social assets, and internal communications.
  • Create and update website graphics including landing pages across e-commerce sites, keep website content fresh and aligned with brand guidelines and marketing/promotions calendar.
  • Work with existing brand guidelines and tone of voice throughout the design process.
  • Work with guidelines for CEO brand to develop and create graphics, and creative imagery.
  • Create and/or work within creative templates for brand and CEO brand image and graphic design.
  • Act as a creative advisor to the broader team (Brand, Social, Ecomm, Sales) and share best practices for digital design with the goal to drive performance improvement across key KPIs (clicks, conversion, etc.).
  • Keep updated on current design processing techniques, digital design trends, and technologies to push Diva to forefront of design and production innovation.
  • Additional design responsibilities outside of digital may be required depending on the needs of the business.

Skills:

  • Proven understanding of digital and social media design and best practices.
  • Understanding of video editing techniques and best practices.
  • Self-starter able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Ability to switch focus as priorities shift and deadlines change in a fast paced, demanding environment.
  • Ability to work within brand guidelines and to translate key points from a creative brief into powerful creative design.
  • Ability to comprehend and translate different brand voices to imagery, moving picture and video while maintaining integrity of brand message and voice.
  • Understanding of engaging and enticing visual content.
  • Ability to work within, design, and optimize templated designs.
  • Design for performance mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote work environment.
    Note: We are a Kitchener-based company but remote candidates in Canada will be considered for this role.

Education & Experience:

  • 3-8 years of work experience as a Digital Graphic Designer (preference to those with ecommerce/retail experience).
  • Bachelor’s degree, post-graduate program, or College Diploma in Design/Digital Media.
  • Must have a portfolio demonstrating relevant experience.
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe CC, Adobe XD, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere, and design software.
  • Proficiency in producing HTML 5 animated assets and strong conceptual and typographic skills.
  • Understanding of current web standards, cross platform compatibility, graphic design, and web usability principles.
  • Familiarity with AODA standards for web and PDF.
  • Working knowledge of web design including Shopify and WordPress is an asset.
  • Working experience of design in health and beauty.

A portfolio required upon resume submission and successful candidates will be asked to participate in a skills assessment.

In 1 month you will:

  • Be confident in your ability to manage files, requests, and all items related to the DivaCup emails, ads, site, and social media accounts.
  • Feel confident in your ability to create content for DivaCup emails, social media accounts and manage content calendars.
  • Be familiar with the software necessary for digital content creation for eCommerce & emails and media accounts
  • Comprehend the brand voice of Diva utilizing and implementing best practices in external and internal content.
  • Feel familiar and comfortable with Airtable and all systems of communication for asset  management.
  • Begin familiarization with our partnership programs and upcoming new initiatives
  • Consistently engage in maintaining a level of industry best practices, including attendance at relevant webinars and educational seminars.

In 3 months you will:

  • Be confident in your management of requests from all channels; including e-commerce, communication, and sales.
  • Maintain the integrity of the Diva brand voice while editing and creating content.
  • Maintain a close eye to catch all errors, fixing them with the resources available to you.
  • Begin sitting in on meetings and emails with external teams and agencies, as needed and required.
  • Manage the coordination of all digital content across creating a database of assets.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal and external content producers to edit content.

In 6 months you will:

  • Feel confident in your use of software and platforms including Airtable, Shopify, Klaviyo, and Adobe Suites
  • Be confident in your daily management of accounts and content calendars.
  • Feel comfortable working directly with external agencies to create media ads.
  • Feel comfortable creating digital assets for our retail partners
  • Feel comfortable making content recommendations based on industry best practices.
  • Maintain the integrity of the Diva brand voice while editing and creating videos and imagery content.
  • Maintain a close eye to catch all errors, fixing them with the resources available to you.
  • Gain comfort and knowledge on working with the current product and upcoming launches.

In 1 year you will:

  • Feel confident making recommendations for E-commerce design and page layouts
  • Feel confident leveraging sales & consumer data into designs and concepts
  • Feel confident creating content across all channels while continuously recommending industry best practices.
  • Feel confident managing relationships with content providers and agencies
  • Curate and manage a database of assets that can be used by the global company.
  • Feel confident training incoming talent on internal management, email, and e-commerce software, and design tools
