Diva International is continually challenging our staff to rethink waste. Beyond our product line, we ensure every element of our business is working to reduce our collective eco-footprint. From our office waste management system, paperless policies to employee individual efforts – it all adds up!  Because of this we are taking our commitment one step further introducing the world’s first free menstrual cup recycling program, DivaRecycles, in partnership with international recycling partner, TerraCycle

Introducing TerraCycle

Operating nationally across 20 countries, TerraCycle is an innovative waste management company with a mission to eliminate the idea of waste. TerraCycle partners with leading consumer product companies, like Diva International to recycle products and packages that would otherwise end up being landfilled or incinerated.

We are proud to partner with TerraCycle and offer DivaRecycles as the first, free menstrual cup recycling program in the world!

The importance of a menstrual cup recycling program

Tampon applicators and sanity pads do not decompose. Instead they break down over time into smaller and smaller pieces – forever residing in our ecosystem. While we know that the medical grade silicone of the DivaCup naturally breaks down over time, we wanted to offer our customers the option of recycling their menstrual cup in a safe, hassle-free, productive way.

The solution, TerraCycle.

Our partnership with TerraCycle and launch of DivaRecycles strengthens Diva’s commitment to sustainability by introducing the first-ever free, national menstrual cup recycling program for previously unrecyclable DivaCup Menstrual Cups and DivaWipes packaging.

Recycle the DivaCup menstrual cup with TerraCycle

Participation in DivaRecycles, is free and easy!

  1. Consumers create an account onTerraCycle.com, and then join the program
  2. DivaCup and DivaWipes packaging can be collected in any type of box.
  3. When the collection box is full, consumers log onto their accounts to download a pre-paid shipping label which they affix to the box, and ship to TerraCycle.
  4. Product is sent back to TerraCycle through UPS.

Once collected, the DivaCup is cleaned, shredded, and put through a hammer-mill until reduced into powder. This powder is used to make recycled products such as flooring tiles, playground or field covers, and athletic tracks.

Every shipment sent to TerraCycle through the program earns consumers points that can be used for charitable gifts or converted to cash and donated to the non-profit, school or charitable organization of their choice.

Currently available in the US and Canada, DivaRecycles will bring extra value to our consumers who will feel better knowing they can safely recycle their DivaCup menstrual cup, our Diva products, and our packaging.
