Sustainability

By working with environmental partners that align with our own mission and
vision we can have an even bigger impact on improving our eco-system.

Our Corporate Actions

Partners and progress

We proudly partner and financially invest in the work being done by Women’s Voice for the Earth (WVE) and the Women’s Environmental Network (WEN). These organizations fight to ensure transparency around manufacturing processes and ingredient disclosure in consumer goods. Within our local community, we’re active members of Sustainable Waterloo Region, always looking for ways to lead and learn about more sustainable ways of doing business.

Every action we take,
no matter how small it
might seem,
adds up to a
collective impact.

TerraCycle

We are thrilled to offer North America’s first free menstrual cup recycling program, DivaRecycles! In partnership with international recycling partner, TerraCycle, DivaRecycles gives our customers the added value of being able to recycle their previously unrecyclable DivaCup Menstrual Cups and DivaWipes packaging.

Operating nationally, in over 20 countries, TerraCycle is on a mission to eliminate the idea of waste, giving products a second life. Together we are creating a more sustainable future for all.

Our Products

For close to 100 years, disposable tampons and pads have been disrupting
our eco-system with chemicals, plastics and dyes. Diva offers a better way, an
eco-friendly way to period that is better for everyone.

Several years, one DivaCup

There are more than 12 billion pads and tampons used and disposed of annually. Unlike disposable tampons and pads, the DivaCup is a reusable option that can last for several years.

We disclose every ingredient

Although the US FDA does not require manufactures to label ingredients on
menstrual care products, Diva discloses every ingredient in our products, so
consumers know exactly what they are buying.

The DivaCup naturally breaks down

Tampon applicators do not decompose, but rather break down over time into
smaller and smaller pieces. The medical grade silicone of the DivaCup
naturally breaks down over time.

100% recyclable & vegetable-based

The DivaCup’s packaging is 100% recyclable and is printed using water and vegetable-based inks. Our packaging takes place in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada, and we continuously work with our vendors to find ways of making business more sustainable for the planet.

The DivaWash’s packaging, including both the bottle and cap, is comprised of Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) which is the most widely recycled plastic in the world.

Supply Chain

Our logistics team works closely with our suppliers and performs an
annual audit to ensure they are participating in their own eco initiatives.
This includes water and hydro savings, as well as recycling, reusing
and reworking products. In addition, we choose to work with trucking
companies that are environmentally friendly as well.

Giving Back

Our social impact program called DivaCares.

We’re dedicated to giving back to our community and those in need. This has always been at the core of Diva’s mission and vision. Since our start we have offered our products, at no cost, to many organizations around the world, and these practices have blossomed into our corporate social responsibility initiative called DivaCares. In addition to product donation, we invest financial resources in support of causes that are helping to improve people’s period experiences.

We also encourage our staff to become involved in their communities by offering paid time off to volunteer with non-profit organizations and projects they’re passionate about.

Learn more about DivaCares by visiting the program’s official website.
